How to Become A Ferrari Challenge Racer

Ferrari owners interested in becoming Challenge racers may begin their training at the Ferrari Driving Experience.
Fans of the F430 Challenge recognize the series as an outstanding way for Ferrari Owners to enjoy their race cars in the structured environment of a race series.  Owners compete against each other on some of North America’s most challenging tracks.  From its origin as a gentlemen's race series, the emphasis has always been on close and fair competition. Race teams, led by Authorized Ferrari Dealers, allow amateur racers (non-professionals) the chance to contest the finest, most technologically advanced cars in a friendly and collegial environment.  Participants compete under the expert guidance of Ferrari’s professional lead instructor, Darius Grala, a former series champion.

Ferrari Challenge racers enjoy victory.
Among the more popular questions we address at Ferrari events is “How do I get started?”  The easiest way to get involved is by checking the Ferrari Challenge website, where you’ll find an overview of the series, the 2009 event schedule, a recap of 2008 standings and series rules and regulations.  Learn even more by attending one of the six events on the schedule.  Follow the action up close from the Ferrari paddock or VIP Hospitality tent.  Meet and speak with drivers and their dealer teams.  Ask them about their racing experiences. You’ll find they are eager to share their insights and thoughts about the series.

One need not spend many years perfecting the skills needed to win or contest for a podium.  Two relative newcomers placed in the top positions of the 2008 series, competing against those with a longer history in amateur racing as well as other novices.  A Ferrari dealership team assists each competitor by preparing and transporting the race car and acting as the pit crew for the driver in each competition.  Races, sometimes in support of Grand-Am events, feature as many as 30 competitors. The action promises to be engaging for both racers and fans alike. In addition to the Ferrari Challenge website you can get additional information on the series by contacting Maria McNeil, Ferrari Challenge Manager at (201) 816-2681 or via email at mmcneil@ferrariusa.com
