Every professional company should offer you a "credit list" of their recent clients. Some lists may even be broken down into business categories, such as "Medical," "Financial," "High Technology," etc.

Are the credited companies on the list similar to yours in terms of category, size and prestige? Do you feel that your company would appropriately fit the list? Again, resist the urge to make conclusions, but continue to rank the companies based on this new information.

Normally, credit lists are confidential, so you may have to identify yourself before a company will release one to you.
