Bahrian and Barcelona Promise Istanbul Win

Felipe Massa relentlessly testing the 2008 Ferrari Formula One car at Barcelona.
Felipe Massa handed Ferrari’s President Luca di Montezemolo his 100th Grand Prix victoryand, with co-driver Kimi Raikkonen in second place, painted Sakhir red from start to finish.  “It is nice to be back in the winner’s position,” remarked Massa.  Teammate Raikkonen noted, “I never found the ideal balance.” But in adding eight points to his season score, Kimi takes first place in the championship run.  “I am convinced that in Barcelona the situation will be different.”

Barcelona proved Kimi’s ride as he continued Ferrari’s triumphant seizure of the Formula One season.  Another one-two Ferrari finish, this time with Felipe Massa in second and Lewis Hamilton in third, Barcelona places Ferrari well above all other competitors in championship points.  In this, the first European GP of the season, Barcelona propels Ferrari forward in what appears to be a combination of faultless driving and superior engineering.

The dueling Ferraris and their hottest competition soon move to Istanbul’s twisty 3.32-mile circuit for the fifth battle of the season.  Bernie Ecclestone has called Istanbul Park “the best race course in the world.” Raikkonen and Massa have fond Grand Prix memories of Istanbul. Raikkonnen took first place at the track’s inaugural 2005 GP.  The next year, Massa scored his first GP win at Istanbul and returned to win again in 2007, with Kimi taking third.  How will the Ferrari duo do this year?
