Atlanta Driver Video - Fast, Challenging

Climb into the cockpit of a 360 Challenge car as Jeff Segal, professional race driver and Ferrari Driving Experience instructor practices the challenging turns and breathtaking straight-aways of Road Atlanta.
Tifosi interested in attending the Ferrari Challenge and Ferrari Shell Historic Challenge races at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia April 18-20 can preview the course from a professional driver's perspective. Jeff Segal, 22, of Miami, a professional driver who frequently instructs for the Ferrari Driving Experience and the Ferrari Challenge, recently videotaped a few practice laps at Road Atlanta and made the following comments:

"Road Atlanta is definitely a real driver's circuit, fast and challenging with lots of tricky elevation and camber changes to the track surface.

The track demands a confident driver because many of the corners are blind and you just sort of turn in and hope for the best until you make it through to the other side. There are some slower technical parts to Road Atlanta such as the turns before and after the long back straight.

Road Atlanta's 2.54-mile Grand Prix road course features 12 challenging turns, including the famous "esses" and the tricky Turn 10 complex.

But most of the lap time gains (or losses) will be found in the more demanding higher speed sections, which really puts the driver and the car to the test. Certainly the final corner coming down an extremely steep hill and onto the front straight in 4th or 5th gear, foot flat to the floor, concrete retaining walls on both sides of the track, that one will absolutely separate the men from the boys!"
