Giveaways are common devices in promotion. The purpose of a giveaway is to build brand recognition. Few giveaways, however, succeed in this task because they are not selected or created with the central marketing theme in mind.

In selecting an effective giveaway, make sure the gift communicates the brand message. Select a gift that will be retained by the customer for a long time.
